Patriot Dads

Connect with other dads in the Shepard community! Patriot Dads is a group focused on building community, motivating one another, strengthening families, and encouraging student engagement. You'll see us on Friday mornings at drop-off cheering on the kids. We also have social events like our Annual Patriot Dad camp out, happy hours, an online chat group on Signal (join here) as well as many other opportunities to get involved and connect throughout the year.

Join our WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) Program. 

WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program used by schools across America to provide a positive impact by creating opportunities for the involvement of fathers and father figures in their student’s life. Dads, granddads, and step-dads spend a day (or more!) at Shepard as a positive male role model.
 
As a WATCH D.O.G.S.® volunteer you'll provide an extra set of eyes, ears, and a helping hand throughout the grade levels. You'll also spend some time with your student!
 
How To Join: To take part in our WATCH D.O.G.S. program please first complete a background check on Voly.org (required). View volunteer calendar! (check back for dates once school year begins). Once your background check is completed you may sign up for a date!

Additional Info:
  • Once you've signed up, our school counselor Erin Christenson will contact you with details and protocol for your volunteer day.
  • T-Shirts: Watch DOGS t-shirts are REQUIRED to be worn on your volunteering day. The school office has some extras to borrow for the day which we will be washed each week. (Sizes L-XXL)You can also purchase your own Watch DOGS approved shirts on the official Watch DOGS website.
  • Save your PTO: Watch D.O.G.S. may qualify for volunteer programs or community service hours at your place of work. Inquire with your company to find out.
